RISCO Slim x78 wireless detectors: advanced perimeter protection in a compact format

With this in mind, RISCO expands its portfolio with the new range of Slim x78 bidirectional wireless detectors, designed to deliver accurate detection, installation flexibility and full integration with LightSYS Air and LightSYS+ systems.

The Slim x78 series is available in three versions:

• Shock detector

• Magnetic contact

• Combined shock and magnetic contact detector

All models share the characteristic Slim form factor, designed to blend discreetly into doors, windows and frames without affecting the aesthetics of the environment.

These new detectors complement the existing Slim magnetic contacts, which remain available within the RISCO ecosystem.

Slim x78 detectors use bidirectional wireless communication, allowing them not only to transmit events but also to receive acknowledgements from the panel. This results in:

• Greater reliability in device supervision

• More accurate configuration and diagnostics

• Real-time status confirmation

This bidirectional architecture is particularly relevant in professional installations where system stability and continuous supervision are critical.

Models with impact detection incorporate a high-sensitivity accelerometer, capable of detecting vibrations and shocks associated with forced entry attempts before the opening actually occurs.

Sensitivity is adjustable across 10 levels, allowing the detector to be adapted to the type of door or window, material and installation environment, reducing false alarms without compromising security.

One of the most notable innovations of the Slim x78 series is the Multi-Zone function. This feature allows each detector technology (shock, magnetic contact and external inputs) to be automatically registered as consecutive independent zones within the system.

Assignment can be easily carried out via:

• The control panel

• The configuration software (CS)

• The HandyApp

This simplifies device enrolment and provides a much clearer overview of the status of each protected point.

Slim x78 detectors can be combined with an optional external bracket that adds two additional independent wired inputs within a single housing.

This option makes it possible to integrate, for example, roller shutter contacts or existing wired sensors, extending perimeter protection without the need for additional transmitters. Each input operates as an independent zone, individually configurable and supervised.

The compact design of the Slim x78 detectors (65.5 × 30.5 × 10.5 mm) is intended to facilitate installation even on narrow frames. Mounting can be carried out using screws or the supplied double-sided adhesive, offering flexibility depending on the surface type.

They also feature a multicolour diagnostic LED, providing immediate visual feedback on:

• Opening and closing

• Shock events

• Battery status

• Tamper conditions

All of this speeds up commissioning and ongoing system maintenance.

Slim x78 detectors include front and rear anti-tamper protection, reinforcing the physical security of the device.

In terms of certifications, the new bidirectional wireless magnetic contacts comply with EN50131-2-6 for the magnetic contact section, and the INCERT certification process is currently underway.

The new Slim x78 series is compatible with:

• LightSYS Air

• LightSYS+ (from version 3.4.4 onwards)

Previous unidirectional models will remain available for older systems, ensuring compatibility with existing installations.
